The Story Behind Our Memory Bears<\/span><\/p>\n

My brother and best friend, Michael, passed away in 2014 following a battle with lung cancer. Thinking of Michael’s love of bears I decided to use some of his signature Hawaiian shirts to make a bear in his memory. “Mikey Bear” brought me great comfort – something I could hold and hug when I missed him most. I decided others might find comfort as I did through handmade memory bears representing their loved ones. I created “Stitched by Susie” to share my vision.<\/p>\n
